About the Bulldogs
Make Friends. Have Fun. Love Hockey.
That is what we’re all about here at Banbury Bulldogs. We love roller hockey and we want your children to love it too.
It is one of the most exhilarating, enjoyable and exciting sports you can do, with both boys and girls competing and playing in teams together. And our history is just as exciting.
We began our story in 1999 playing Ball Hockey as Kineton Cavalier Skater Hockey Club – named after the local battle of Edgehill that took place in 1642.
The club grew and moved to the Spiceball Sports Centre in Banbury and trained over the Summer Holidays when the roller Disco was closed. During this time we became Banbury Bulldogs.
We moved home again to our current training location: Warriner School in Bloxham where the club continues to grow.
We started in 199 as a ball hockey team, but now we play puck hockey too, and we compete in the challenging BIPHA Midlands League and BISHA League.
But it takes a lot of effort from a lot of fantastic volunteers as our Chair explains below.
Message from our Chair: Jane Goodall
It’s important to remember that we are run entirely by volunteers, and we need more parents to offer what they can to the Club.
The majority of current committee members have no prior background in roller hockey and have become involved in the Club through their children’s interest in the sport.
I would actively like to encourage new members to join the committee – it is very rewarding.
The club wishes to thank the following for their help and support
